Sakar Agriscience Private Limited came into existence in 2004 with a view to ensure timely supply of high-quality seeds and pesticides to farmers on reasonable price. In this journey, Sakar has become a renowned name in the field of vegetable seeds and pesticides.
Presently Sakar has a state of the art research unit and a large customer base widespread over the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Orissa and beyond India, in Nepal. The network is still expanding through dedicated efforts of our marketing team. Farmers are welcoming Sakar products with open hands because of its genuine quality as well as the trustworthiness it has retained in the last years.
“Sakar” was a vision of Bharat Krishi Kendra since last 30 years. Bharat Krishi Kendra based at Durg and Raipur at Chhattisgarh started as a techno-commercial movement with an ideology to provide quality inputs with the correct technology to the farmers.
Along with agrochemicals of world-renowned technical houses, Bharat Krishi Kendra started its own selection & development of vegetable seeds. First astonishing success was a chili variety named by us as “CHILLI LAWANGI JAPANI”.
This variety got immense popularity among the farmers throughout India. This achievement encouraged our R & D team to enthusiastically develop some miraculous varieties of Bitter gourd, Bottle gourd, Cowpea, Cucumber, Radish, Fenugreek, Guar, Brinjal and Okra. It took almost more than 15 years of hard research and development work for miraculous results. To ensure better management of Seed production and distribution Sakar Agriscience Pvt. Ltd. came into existence.
Today our seed production farms are spread over an area of about 500 acres and are well equipped with the latest technology equipments. A team of experts is continuously engaged in research to achieve something better than what we have today.
Now Sakar Seeds is also undertaking seed production of Red gram (Arhar) and there are plans to add some other crops’ seeds in our bouquet in the coming years. We are on the way to export our products abroad and to get membership of Asia Pacific Seed Association (APSA) in near future.
